* !Birth: Birth record in handwriting of his father, 1901.
* !Marriage: Marriage book, "Our Wedding Day," in possession of Margaret
Robe Summitt. "This Certifies that Edward O. Mueller of Grand Chute and
Bertha J. Schilling of City of Appleton were united in marriage according
to the
ordinance of God and the laws of Wisconsin at Appleton on the 28th
day of April in the
Year of Our Lord 1913 by the Rev. H. J. Siewert,
Appleton, Wis. Witnesses: Erwin
Saiberlich, Emma Mueller."
* !Biography of his father in the History of Outagamie Co., p. 619-20, states that
Edward was "educated at the Appleton schools, Lawrence University and the State
University, where he took a dairy course. He then learned the cheesemaking trade at
Wausau, and was employed in the Eagle Manufacturing Company's plant in Appleton, but since
his father's death he has devoted his entire time and attention to the home farm." At
the time he was attending dairy school, he spelled his name Edward Miller. Across the road
and 1/2 mile west was an Ed Miller who had lots of debts, so before 1913 he changed his
name back. He was up north making cheese when Grandpa died. After he got married he and
his wife and sisters moved to a farm where Harvey and Bonita were. Then Harvey &
Bonita left, went to Nebraska, to Los Angeles, to Oakland, to Portland. Later Ed and
Bertha followed, with Hattie and Emma. They stayed in the Portland area while Harvey and
Bonita went to Silverton (info. from Warren E. Mueller).
