Documentation:
* Family stories,
* Census records,
* Notes from Martha's son L P Little and his daughter Laura's research. L P Little
even wrote that three of his brothers died very young of tuberculosis. They connected
Polly Jones Weatherford to a Thomas Jones of Bermuda Hundred, Henrico, Virginia and this
author feels that Polly was merely a nickname and this line needs more work. The 1810
census of Charlotte lists a Patsy Weatherford living near many other Weatherford families
including a Charles. However we found in the Charlotte County Miscellany notes that Benoni
Smith gave the surety to marriage for Catherine Weatherford....Catherine and John are
found living with her daughter Mary Ann Waltrip on the 1850 census and only Catherine is
found on the 1860 census, apparently widowed, and living with other daughter Martha Ann
Wright Little, but we also find the Waltrip's children living in this household. Some
speculate that John Wright had a son and while it is quite possible, this author found no
proof.
