1. WILLIAM CLARK(b. ca 1814) was listed with wife, Ruth Clark, in the 1850 &
1860 US Censuses in Wheeling, Ohio County, VA (now West Virginia) and in the 1870 and 1880
US censuses in Pease Township, Belmont County, OH. His occupation was listed as "pilot."
Death dates for William and Ruth being "after 1879" are based on them last appearing in
the 1880 US Census. Ruth's surname "Bentley" is listed in the desth certificates of two of
her children - John Edward Clark and William H. Clark.
2. MARY ELIZABETH CLARK appears in the 1850 US Census as "Elizabeth" and in the 1860
US Census as "Mary E." No further record found.
3. DAVID BLASHFORD CLARK appears in the 1850-1880 US Censuses living with his
parents. In 1850 & 1860 he appears as "David B. Clark", in 1870 as "Blashford Clark"
and in 1880 as "Blash Clark." In 1870 his occupation was listed as &qu ot;working on
farm" and in 1880 it was listed as "clerk in RR Dept." He appears in the 1890 US Veterans
Census in Bridgeport, Belmont County, OH as a Civil War veteran - having served in Battery
D (Carlin's Battery" of the 1st West Virginia Light Artillery. His 1891 marriage
certificate indicates he was born in Wheeling and was living in Bridgeport, Ohio at the
time of his marriage. David B. Clark and "Lee" Clark appear in the 1900 US Census in
Wheeling (Clay District)along with their children Ruth N. and Lottie L. Clark and a niece,
Nellie Fleming. West Virginia death certificate indicates David B. was married, a clerk,
resident of the city of Wheeling, died in Wheeling, and was buried at Stone Church
Cemetery. He filed for an invalid pension (Civil War service)from West Virginia on 25
August 1892, a minor pension was filed from West Virginia on 14 Dec 1901 and a widow
pension was filed from Indiana on 21 July 1920 - widow Cora L. Clark who was also listed
as "adm."
4. WILLIAM H. CLARK. Death certificate indicates he was an accountant, was married
and was buried at Weeks Cemetery (Bridgeport, OH). His wife, Emily Harrison, was born 30
Mar 1846 in Martins Ferry, Belmont County, OH and died 3 Oct 1916 in Belmont County, OH.
She was buried at "West Bridgeport." The 1880-1910 US Censuses show them living in
Bridgeport, Belmont County, OH. In 1920, William H. Clark was shown living with his
daughter (Lucy) and son-in-law Philip A. Kennedy.
5. JACOB B. CLARK. He last appears in the 1870 US Census, living with his parents.
His occupation was river pilot.
6. SAMUEL M. CLARK. He last appears in the 1870 US Census, living with his parents.
His occupation was "working on farm."
7. JOHN EDWARD CLARK. Appears in 1860 & 1870 US Censuses as "John E. Clark" and
"John Clark", respectively, and in the 1880 US Census as "Edward Clark." ; In 1870 his
occupation was listed as "works on farm" in 1880 "learning piloting." In 1920 he appears
in Bridgeport, Belmont County, OH and was listed as a bookkeeper. His death certificate
indicates he was a bookkeeper for "Dillon Lens Co." Informant for the information on the
death certificate was "Mrs Harry Clark, McKeesport, PA."
8. JAMES B. CLARK. He last appears living with his parents in the 1870 US Census.
9. HERVEY M.CLARK, also known as "Harry" Clark. He was living with his parents
during the 1860-1880 US Censuses. In 1860 he was listed as "Hervey M. Clark" and in 1870
& 1880 as "Harry Clark." In 1880 his occupation was listed as "learning piloting." In
1900 he was listed as Henry Clark and was an auditor, living in Jersey City, NJ with his
wife, Esther, children, Mary and Henry and sister-in-law, Lydia Horner. In 1910 & 1920
he was listed as Harry M. Clark, a bookkeeper, living in Glassboro, Allegheny County, PA.
