Donna at DLDUWE@aol.com believes Vincent Boley may be the brother of Frances Edith Boley
m: 1838 to David A. Miller in MO. David was killed by guerillas in 1864 (Civil War). F.E.
Boley Miller died 1902 and was one of the founders of the Mt Olivet Methodist Church on
hwy 15, between Mexico, MO and Paris, MO. The church burned down in the 1970s.

James R. Boley, who came to Carroll Co. March 9, 1834, died Oct 31 1889 at the home of his
son F.W. Boley. Mr. Boley was born in Garrett county, Kentucky, Feb 21, 1808 February

Found Vincent Boley in the 1810 Kentucky census index . Will need to look at the actual
census records to find more. He was in the 1810 Gerrard Co, Ky census.
Could not find him in the 1820 census .
He was in the 1830 census in Adair Co, Ky. Fielding Boley in Mercer Co, Ky 1830
Was not in the 1840 Census for Ky or Mo.
In 1840 there is a James R Boley in Carroll co, Mo along with Fielding Boley same county.
in 1850 there is James R, Fielding and Samuel Boley all of Carroll Co, MO

Virgil D. White's "Genealogical Abstracts of Revolutionary War Pension Files" contains an
abstract of the pension file of Frederick BOLEY mentioned above, and that of "BOLEY,
Prestley, S39204, Cont Line (VA), sol appl 20 Aug 1818 Bedford Co VA, in 1820 sol was aged
66 with wife Polly aged 37 & children; Harriet 16, Martha 14, John 12 & William
aged 10, sol d 20 May 1838." John D. Gwathmey's "Historical Register of Virginians in the
Revolution" lists "BOLEY, Peter, 4 CL," "BOLEY, Presley, Corp. 1 Light Dragoons," and
"BOLEY, Priestley, Bedford pensioner." Speaking of the vagaries of spelling, I wondered
whether Presley, Priestley, and Prestley, were the same person. I then checked the
Centennial edition of the DAR "Patriot Index" where I found only the following single
entry under the heading BOLEY: "Pressley Mountford: b 12-15-1766 VA d 5-20-1838 VA m Polly
A. -- Pvt CL PNSR" ["CL" means "Continental Line" and "PNSR" means pensioner].

If James R. Boley is brother to Fielding (as it appears) here is information on him: James
R. Boley, was born whithin a mile and a half of Danville, Kentucky, in 1808. In 1829 he
removed from Kentucky to Madison Co., ILL and in 1832 from there to MO. In 1834 he came to
Carroll Co, and after a residence in Combs Township for six years, he moved north and
settled in the north-west corner of Township fifty-four, twenty-two. There were then not
many more than a dozen families living in the east part of the County north of Big Creek.
No settlements had been made at all on the prairie, and the whole country was a
wilderness. His first wife was Jemima W. Gentry, whom he married in Kentucky. His first
wife having died, he was married in 1853, to Mrs. Elizabeth Phillips, whose maiden name
was Lynch. Mrs. Boley was born in TN in 1815, and in all probability there is no person
now living who was in Carroll Co. at an earlier date. Her father David Lynch, came to the
Co about 1819, or 1820, at the same time with Nathaniel Cary, when she was only four years
old. Her parents soon afterward, on account of sickness, moved to Lafayette Co, where she
resided til 1841, when she came back to Carroll CO. Mr Boley has been an old Whig and now
Democrat in politics. He has been a pioneer of his section of the Co. And both he and his
wife are hearty and vigourous in view of their advanced years, and the hardships they have
