Estate of Leving Moody, Deceased

 

Petition of Margaret Moody for letters testamentary on the estate of Loving Moody, late a resident of this county. She recites that on the 22d day of May 1866 he departed this life and that on the 19th day of May 1866 the deceased had executed his last will and testament disposing of all his property, both real and personal. August term of court 1866.

Will of Leving Moody. Filed 24 Sept. 1866. Recorded 22 May 1872. To wife, Margaret Moody, who is to be sole executrix "of all my affairs, leaving all my lands, chattels, goods, horses, cattle and other livestock whith whatever money I may now have on hand ... to her entire care and management, to be controlled by her, as she may deem most proper...." S/ Leving Moody.
Witnesses: Levi Newton and C. W. Smith.
Proved 24 Sept. 1866 by deposition of C. W. Smith, one of the subscribing witnesses to the will of Lovin Moody bearing date 19 May 1866. [No date was entered in the body of the will of Levin Moody. He is variously called Levin, Leving, Lovin, etc.]

Inventory and Lists [appraisement]. Included: 208 acres land, farm equipment, etc. Total value: $2149. Appraisal dated November 24, 1866. M. Moore and C. W. Smith testified on oath that the above is a true inventory and appraisal of the estate of Levin Moody. Filed March 14, 1871. Recorded May 22, 1872 in Book G, page 204. On 13 March 1871, Mrs. Margaret Moody, executrix, deposes and says that the within inventory and appraisal is correct. S. C. H. Witten, J. P.
