Tarrant County TXGenWeb - King Family Bible

This bible belonged to Mary Ann King (5 Jul 1844 - 5 Mar 1874), daughter of George W. Grant (24 Oct 1815 - 3 Apr 1901) and Sarah Mildred Byars (23 Jun 1820 - 2 Feb 1901). She married my gg grandfather, William M. King, on 23 Oct 1866. William King (4 Jun 1836 - 30 Jan 1873), along with his brother, Richard Henry King (16 Apr 1834 - 12 Sep 1908), came to Tarrant County on the 1854 wagon train from Todd County, Kentucky. I have never been able to determine the parents of William and Richard. All are buried at Pioneers Rest Cemetery.

Garren King

I recently came across a cousin who was in possession of a King family bible. I was able to make high resolution scans of the pertinent pages and would like to add them to the photo gallery. These images are attached to my tree at Ancestry.com but I wanted a place where I could post them so that researchers in the future would have free access to them. This bible belonged to my great great great grandfather William M. King. William, along with his older brother Richard H. King, came to Fort Worth in the 1850s on the wagon train from Todd Co, Kentucky. William died fairly young but Richard made a name for himself as the blacksmith and prominent citizen of Fort Worth. William and Richard along with their wives are buried in Pioneers Rest Cemetery.
