Winnie Frances Kersey

Winnie Frances Kersey, born on 30 Mar 1887 in Brownwood, Brown Co, TX. Winnie Frances died in Ft. Stockton, Pecos Co, TX on 6 Jun 1962; she was 75. Buried in East Hill Cemetery , Fort Stockton, Pecos Co, TX.

She was active in Federation of Womens Clubs, Big Bend DAR, Ft. Stockton Literary Club. On 6 Jun 1904 when Winnie Frances was 17, she married James Conn Cunningham, son of G. W. Cunningham& Eliza Jane Isaacs, in Cristoval, TX. in home of her sister, Jessie Kersey Smith. James Conn died in Roswell, NM on 31 Jan 1963; he was 81. Buried in East Hill Cemetery, Fort Stockton, Pecos Co, TX. Occupation: Rancher, Banker. They had the following children: George Winford "Concho" and Mary Elizabeth

Bill "BJ" Kenner

Bill "BJ" Kenner, Fort Stockton, 75, died February 26, 2006 at Fort Stockton. Born November 11, 1930 at Grant, Oklahoma, BJ was the son of Harvy and Myrtle Tillery Keener. BJ and Theresa Keener were united in marriage April 15, 1952 at San Antonio. They have lived in Fort Stockton since 1973, moving from Jal, N. M.

A member of the Baptist Church, BJ was a long time member of the Masonic Lodge and an avid golfer. He was a meter technician with El Paso National Gas Company.

He is survived by: his wife, Theresa; his son, Darrell Keener, Corpus Christi; his daughters, Terry Caper, Fort Stockton and Shirley Plumley, Grand Prairie; and his sister, Wilma Daveson, Grant, Okla.

Five granddaughters and four great-grandchildren also survive.

Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Fort Stockton Funeral Home Tuesday, February 28. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 1 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church. Reverend Bob Cheek will officiate. Interment will be in East Hill Cemetery . Arrangements are under the direction of Fort Stockton Funeral Home

Leo King

Leo King, 56, owner of Leo and Sons, died Tuesday, April 8, 1997, in Odessa. Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Iraan High School auditorium with the Rev. Mike Wright officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery . Arrangements by Richard W. Box Funeral Home.

He was born in Wink and was a resident of Iraan. He was a Baptist and a U.S. Army veteran.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Sandra King of Iraan; son, Wyn King of Iraan; daughter, Susie Morgan of Co" manche; father, Chester King of Fort Stockton; brother, Garland King of Fort Stockton; sister, Patricia Duron Lightfoot of Odessa; and two grand" children

Wanda Kness

Wanda Kness, 74, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 1997, in Fort Stockton. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Fort Stockton with the Rev. Larry Kruger officiating. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery . Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

She was born in Cushing, Okla., and moved to Fort Stockton from Imperial in 1956.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Donald Kness of Fort Stockton; sons, Larry Hearn of Colorado City and Larry Kness of Hazel Hurst, Pa.; daughters, Sylvia Townsend, Kay Wilson and Dorothy Nolen, all of Fort Stockton; sisters, Louise Whitworth and Mildred Johnson, both of Fort Stockton; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren

Jerry L. Kresta JPEG Format

Jerry L. Kresta, 68,died June 13, 2007 at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston. Jerry was a law officer for 17 years, including holding office as Hudspeth County Chief Deputy and Sheriff, Resident Deputy in Imperial and, after retirement, Pecos County Courthouse Security.

Cherishing memories of Jerry are his wife of 46 years, Corley, daughter Paige Strong, son-in-law Kevin Strong and grandsons Josiah, Jonah and Noah Strong, and a host of friends, including fellow law enforcement officers.
A memorial service will be held June 24 at 2 p.m. Northside Baptist Church. Conducting the service will be Pastor Scott Owens and Pastor Gary Dunn, Ft. Stockton, and Pastor J.C. Gomez of Sierra Blanca. Honorary Pallbearers: William King, Raul Gonzales, Kevin Strong, Josiah Strong, Jonah Strong and Noah Strong.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be sent to Northside Baptist Church, 701 W. 17th St., Fort Stockton
