William Edward "Bill" Akins - b. 1931 ~ d. Sept 14, 2006

William E "Bill" Akins, age 75, left this life to start another life with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday September 14th at 5:25 A.M. in the Home Hospice House in Odessa.

Bill was born in McCauley, TX to Luther and Buela Mae Akins. He was in the U.S. Army serving as MP during The Korean War, and retired from The United States Postal Service with over thirty years of service. Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stanton, TX. He was a deacon of The First Baptist Church of Imperial while living there and a proud member of the Lions Club.

Survivors include wife Glenda Akins of Odessa; his son Todd Akins of Midland, three step-daughters Debbie Gaddis of Sachse TX, Donna Brown of Odessa, and Terry McIntyre of Valentine, TX; two brothers, Bynum Akins of Dallas, and Ferris Akins of Ballinger; five sister, Coe Pinson of Warner Robins, GA, Nola Vymola of Ft Worth, Martha Evelyn Lewellen of Austin, Lillian Gotcher of Lubbock, and Latane Robertson of San Angelo; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was proceed in death by his father Luther Akins, and mother Buela Mae Parker; stepson Les Brown; two brothers, Wesley Akins and Ray Akins; five sisters; Katy Borron, Dale Russo, Cleo McCloud, Icey Snelgrove, and Aline Jones.

Funeral services will be held in Imperial, TX at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, at the First Baptist Church. Reverends Dean Duckett, Ferris Akins, and David Harp will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at the Imperial Cemetery conducted by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane
Fred Achterberg Family

Frederick Achterberg - born in Germany, died in Fort Stockton, Texas in 1921.

Anna Theis Achterberg - born in Boerne, Texas in 1865. Daughter of Jack Theis. Anna attended the Terrell County 50th Anniversary in 1955 at the age of 90.

Frederick and Anna married in 1882. They had five sons: John, George, Fred, August, and Albert.

DOROTHY ANNE AISHMAN

Dorothy Anne Aishman, our beloved wife and mother, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dorothy was born on Aug. 2, 1926, to Thomas Boyd and Auda Williams Osborne in Caddo, Texas.

She moved with her parents to Iraan, Texas, in 1928, and lived much of her life there. She graduated from Iraan High School in 1943, and from the Shannon Hospital School of Nursing in San Angelo in 1946. She was married to Will Edward Aishman on March 7, 1947, in Iraan.

Will and Dorothy celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary just a few weeks ago. Dorothy was a registered nurse and served on the staff of Iraan General Hospital from the early 1960s to the mid 1970s. After moving to Snyder, Texas, in 1976, Dorothy served on the staff of Cogdell Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1980. Dorothy and Will moved to San Angelo in 1991 and resided happily at Rio Concho Manor. Dorothy attended the First Christian Church and the First United Methodist Church in Iraan, and the First United Methodist Church in San Angelo.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Will Aishman of San Angelo, Texas; by her sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Judy Aishman of Houston, Texas, and Ed and Sheree Aishman of Iraan, Texas; by her son, Rick Aishman and special family friend, Tom Phipps, both of Dallas, Texas; by her grandsons, Jon Aishman of San Angelo, Texas, and Rance Aishman of Lubbock, Texas; by two sisters-in-law, Francys Noland of Hurst, Texas, and Lucille Whitlock of Del Rio, Texas; by other members of her extended family; and by a host of friends in Iraan, Snyder and San Angelo.

The family will receive friends at Johnsons Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, and a graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, in Restland Cemetery in Iraan, Texas . Dorothy received loving care from the staff of Hospice of San Angelo during her final months and from the staff of Baptist Memorials Center Nursing Home during her final days. The family gratefully acknowledges all those who cared for Dorothy and encourages memorial contributions to either organization or to another favorite charity in lieu of floral remembrances. Sofia S. Acosta

Sofia S. Acosta, 99, of Fort Stockton, a retired cook and maid at the Spring Hurst Motel, died Wednesday, May 6, 1998, at her residence. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church with the Rev. Jim Chaumont officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Fort Stockton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery . Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

She was born in Fort Stockton and was a lifelong resident. She was a Catholic.

Survivors: Daughters, Librada Pina and Erudina Garcia, both of Fort Stockton; 23 grandchildren, 86 great-grandchildren, 95, great-great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-great-grandchildren

Elbert H. Archer

Elbert H. Archer, 70, of Fort Stockton, a retired test engineer at Firestone's test track, died Wednesday, June 24, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fort Stockton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Miles officiating. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery . Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

He was born in Corsicana and moved to Fort Stockton in 1937 from Corsicana. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was Presbyterian.

Survivors: Wife, Darlene Archer of Fort Stockton; sons, Ricky Archer of Houston and Randy Archer of Fort Stockton; sister, June Archer of Corsicana; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild

Wayne R. Alldridge

Wayne R. Alldridge, 68, of Iraan, a retired production foreman for Marathon Oil Company, died Friday, Dec. 25, 1998, in a Fort Worth hospital. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Restland Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Wright officiating. Arrangements by Richard W. Box Funeral Home.

He was born in Iraan. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Betty Alldridge of Iraan; sons, Darrell Aldridge of Glen Rose and Marshall Alldridge of Iraan; sister, Mary Clark of Angel Fire, N.M; brother, Ollie T. Alldridge of Carlsbad, Texas; and two grandchildren

John Sutton Allison II

John Sutton Allison II, 61, of San Angelo passed away on Sunday, June 14, 1998. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, at the First Presbyterian Church, officiated by Dr. Ron Sutto, pastor, and the Rev. Carl Rohlfs, pastor of First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, directed by Johnson's Funeral Home.

Sutton was born in San Angelo on Jan. 31, 1937, to Jack and Jerry Allison. He graduated from Fort Stockton High School and attended the University of Texas. He ranched in Pecos, Menard and Sutton counties and was well-respected by the ranching community. He had served as president of the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers' Association, as president of the Wool Growers Central Storage Co. and as a director of Central National Bank.

He is survived by his wife, Annabelle; two sons, John Sutton Allison III and his wife, Patty, and James Edward Allison, and a daughter, Katherine Brooks and husband, Conoly; four grandchildren, Stefanie, Sutton, Philip and Caroline Allison; one sister, Judy Carpenter and her husband, Charles, of Austin; and his two best friends, Jake and J.J. Pallbearers will be Lon Slaughter, J.B. Fraley, Henry Hamman, Ford Smith, Chuck Bledsoe, Bobby Westbrook, Morris Reese and Tommy Corbell.

Sutton was thoughtful, caring, kindhearted, with a great sense of humor, and was very fun-loving. He lived a rich, full life blessed by a loving family and many, many wonderful friends. The family requests memorials be made to a favorite charity.
