Pecos County The Pecos County Sheriffs Office awaited word Thursday on preliminary autopsy results for a 24-year-old man found dead in his car.
According to Pecos County Sheriff Cliff Harris, Jesus Abdiel Garcia was found shortly after midnight Thursday south of Fort Stockton on Davis Road with a single bullet wound to the side of his head. We found that the subject had probably been dead for awhile, Harris said. The body was sent to Lubbock for an autopsy. There were no weapons recovered and no signs of struggle, Harris said. Pecos County A 29-year-old man was charged Friday with murder in connection with the Wednesday night death of Jesus Abdiel Garcia.
Alfonso Quiroz remained Friday in the Pecos County Jail on bonds totaling $600,000 on charges of murder and unlawful possession of a firearm, Chief Deputy T.J. Perkins said. Quiroz was arrested Thursday and charged with the unlawful possession of a firearm, however Perkins couldnt say whether the firearm was the same used in the death of Garcia. He said it was still under investigation.
