Taken in Big Spring, Howard Co., TX. It didn't scan the greatest but it's a photo that my grandmother, Tennie (Hollis) Horn, held dear to her heart. She was born in Big Spring, Howard County, TX, and she loved showing my dad and I this photo and talking about "the Hollis homeplace near Big Spring, TX". Tennie (Hollis) Horn was born in July 1891 to William Jefferson and Mary Frances (Penny) Hollis.

John William Hollis Family (L-R) Lillie Lee Hollis, Connie Lois Hollis, John William Hollis (father), Corine Aslee (Smith) Hollis (mother, Leonard N. Hollis and Earl Franklin Hollis (youngest boy).
John William "Willie" Hollis came to Howard Co., TX with his parents, William Jefferson and Mary Frances (Penny) Hollis. The families then migrated from Howard to Henderson Co., TX but John William Hollis brought his own family back to the Big Spring, Howard Co., TX area by May 1909. He settled there and to this day he has descendants in the area. He, his wife and various family members are buried in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
This photo was one that he sent to my grandmother and his sister, Tennie (Hollis) Horn, who had migrated with their parents to Oklahoma between 1910-1920.
