THE VICTORIA ADVOCATE - ANDRES Y. PENA - VICTORIA March 26, 2006  VICTORIA - Andres Ybarbo Pena, 68, of Victoria, died Friday, March 24, 2006.He was born Nov. 29, 1937, in Goliad, to the late Lendro Pena Sr. and Adela Ybarbo Pena. He was a retired ranch hand for Musselman Cattle Co. and a Catholic.Survivors: wife, Maria Mendoza Pena; sister, Lauisa Rubio of Goliad; and brother, Leandro Ybarbo Pena Jr. of Telferner.  Preceded in death by: brother, Pablo Pena.  Visitation will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Artero Memorial Chapels.  A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.  Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.  Burial will be at San Antonio Cemetery in Swickheimer Ranch. POST,  ALFRED C.

 

The Victoria Advocate OBIT--Alfred C. Post, 95, of 601 N. Brownson, resident of Victoria since 1929, died at 11:40 p.m. Sunday March 6, 1983 in a local hospital following a long illness. Mr. Post, a retired building contractor, was born Feb. 25, 1888 at Arneckeville, and was the son of the late John Henry Post and Hulda Mueller Post. A former resident of Yoakum, he was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. W. P. Menn officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Prior to the service, the body will lie in state at Colonial Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Josephine Tibbit Post of Victoria; two daughters, Dian Whitaker and Grace Stuart, both of Victoria; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Herbert Post Jr., Lionell Post, Elbert Post, Carl Heiling, J. W. Whitaker and F. F. Post, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be W. R. Coons, Jr., Charles Copley, Alfred Wesar and Charlie Milberger.

BERNHARD CARL POST A TRIBUTE PUBLISHED IN THE PAGES OF THE VICTORIA ADVOCATE, VICTORIA, TEXAS, DEC. 17, 1966--Memorial Obituary, Entered into Eternal Rest, Friday, Dec. 16, 1966--Bernhard Carl POST, 80, a retired blacksmith and farmer, died at 5 a.m. Friday at his residence, 906 N. DeLeon St., following a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. James L. Carlson officiating. The body will be at Duckett Funeral Home until 12:30 Sunday, at which time it will be taken to the church where it will be from 1 p.m. until time of the services. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery under direction of Duckett Funeral Home. Should friends so desire contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church. Mr. Post was born July 12, 1886 in Arneckeville, and was a former resident of the Ander Community in Goliad County. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and of Woodmen of the World. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Amalia Post of Victoria; a son, Ewald Post of El Campo; four daughters, Mrs. Arthur Luedecke and Mrs. Charlie Milberger, both of Victoria, and Mrs. Raymond Jacobs of Goliad and Mrs. Wesley Jacobs of San Antonio; two brothers, Alfred Post and Herbert Post, both of Victoria; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Bernhard Carl Post--Funeral services for BERNHARD Carl Post, 80, of 906 N. DeLeon St., will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. James L. Carlson officiating. The body will be at Duckett Funeral Home until 12;30 p.m. Sunday, at which time it will be taken to the church where it will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the services. Interment will be Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Glyn Jacobs, Dwayne Jacobs, Wayne Jacobs, Stanley Post, Kenneth Post and Gary Post. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Milberger, Gene Carson and Delbert McCullough. Should friends so desire contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church.

 

POST,  EWALD STANLEY

 

From obit. & newspaper: Ewald Stanley Post was born on June 26, 1917 in Ander, Tex to Ben Post & Amalia ( Molly) Hoff Post. He was baptized on August 19, 1917 & confirmed on March 29, 1931 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Kilgore. Ewald died of respiratory & heart failure on Dec 25, 1993 at Citizen's Hospital in Victoria, Tex. Ewald spent his life as a devoted husband & as a father. For thirty-five years his days were full in his occupation as a grocer. He very much enjoyed his children & grandchildren. He was a sportsman who loved hunting & fishing, & he also played the guitar. He was dedicated in his work to the church & community, & he was respected by those who knew him. Ewald Post is survived by his wife, Wiliedine (Dukie) Post; his sons, Stanley, Kenneth, & Gary Post; his sisters Ruth Jacobs, Gladys Jacobs, & Virginia Milberger; & his six grandchildren. Many other friends & relatives mourn his death. Services held in St. John's Lutheran Church, Goliad, Tex, Tuesday, Dec 28, 1993. Colonial Funeral Home of Goliad in charge of arrangements. Rev. Tim Muehlbrad, Presiding Minister. Interment in Kilgore Cemetery. Pallbearers: Russell Post, Alex Post, Tyre Post, Anthony Wilhelm, Wayne Jacobs, Bruce Milberger. He formerly owned a grocery store in El Campo, Tex & had also been a rancher in Goliad.

 

POST,  MRS. HERBERT (NATHALIE M.), SR.

 

The Victoria Advocate Obits Oct. 23, 24, & 25, 1985 Nathalie M. Post (Mrs. Herbert Post, Sr.) 87, of 508 Buena Vista, died Tuesday in a local nursing home following a long illness. Born April 23, 1898 in Fannin to the late Henry and Emma Natho Waitschies, she was a member of St. Joseph Mothers' Club, Friendship Garden Club and the Presbyterian church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Colonial Gardens Chapel on Cuero Highway with Dr. James E. Bauer officiating. Burial will follow in Colonial Gardnes Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Leo Hauboldt, Darden Jacob, Alvin Kubicek, H. C. Martin, F. F. Post and M. R. Waitschies. The body will lie in state at Colonial Funeral Home on Red River until noon Friday. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Carl F. Heiling of Victoria; a son, Herbert Post, Jr. of Victoria; two sisters, Mrs. Joel Bego and Mrs. Roland Franke, both of Goliad; a brother Alvin Waitschies of Victoria; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Post Sr., in 1973. Contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Endowment Fund.

 

POST,  JOHN HENRY

 

Born Feb. 21, 1854 Died Dec. 16, 1932 Cuero Record, Obit in paper-J. H. Post of Meyersville dies in hospital at Victoria. Funeral services are to be held Sunday Afternoon at 3 o'clock for J. H. Post, 78 year old Meyersville farmer, who breathed his last in a Victoria hospital shortly after 11 o'clock Saturday morning. Services will be held from the Victoria funeral home with interment in the Meyersville Lutheran Cemetery. The deceased is father of Mrs. William Adickes of this city. Born in Yorktown, J. H. Post grew to young manhood in that city, later moving with his parents to Arneckeville. For the past thirty years he had been a resident of meyersville, however, where he was recognized as a progressive & respected farmer. Surviving are 6 sons, Henry, Ben & Ferdinand of Ander, Alfred & Herbert of Victoria & Otto of Meyersville & 2 daughters, Mrs. William Adickes of Cuero & Mrs. Albert Diebel of Ander. Cuero Record.

From OBIT: Margaret Krause Post, 76, longtime Victoria grocery store owner, died in a local hospital Friday, April 24, 1992, after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Post was born Feb. 19, 1916, in New York, N. Y., to the late Ernest & Hermania Meyer Krause. She was a 1933 graduate of Nazareth Academy, previous co-owner of the E. Post Food Market, Chairperson of rummage sales for St. Vincent de Paul Society, a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Altar Society, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. Ann No. 369, the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, a Sunday School teacher & a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Survivors: Husband, Elbert "Bubba" Post; daughter, Mary Post of Victoria, sons, David Post of Schroeder, Jim Post of Corpus Christi & Tom Post of Houston; nine grandchildren & seven great-grandchildren. Rosary 7 p.m. Sunday at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Services 2 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Monsignor Thomas McLaughlin & the Rev. Gary Janak officiating. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Rosewood Funeral Chapels, Victoria, 573-4546. The body will lie in state until 12:30 p.m. Monday, at which time it will be taken to the church for services.  POST,  NATHAN W.

 

The Victoria Advocate Obit: Cuero--Nathan W. Post, 79, of Cuero, died Sunday morning, Jan 28, 1990 in a Victoria hospital He was born July 1, 1910 in Goliad County in the community of Ander to the late Henry W. and Olga Hoff Post. He was owner of Nathan Post Lumber Co. and General Contractors until his retirement in 1982, when he became active in ranching. Mr. Post was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, and formerly held a position on the church's council. He was a charter member of the Cuero Hospital Foundation and a member of its board of directors. He was a former member of Cuero Lions Club and a former director of the Cuero Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture. Mr. Post was instrumental in forming the City of Cuero Hillside Cemetery Endowment Fund. He married Hattie Kleiber on Nov. 2, 1935, in Victoria. She preceded him in death Feb. 17, 1986. A rosary for Mr. Post will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at the Freund Funeral Home chapel in Cuero. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Monsignor Henry Herbst officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Surviving are a daughter, Jo Ann Edge of San Antonio; three sons, Nathan C. Post, Robert W. Post and John A. Post, all of Cuero; a sister, Esther Post Striedel of Ander; and a brother, Leonell C.
