Home Queries Lookups Surnames Online Resources Address Book Bits & Pieces Bibliography County History Email County Coordinator Cemetery was established with the burial of John Sanders Dickson on July 16, 1853. The cemetery is located on the James O. Dickson Survey, Abstract No. 338, Denton County, Texas. For many years the cemetery remained in a state of despair. In July 1989 a deed was secured and cleanup began on the cemetery. It is now fenced and a deed to the cemetery land and right-of-way to the cemetery is on file. The cemetery is still classified as abandoned, but a Dickson Cemetery Association has been formed and members keep the cemetery mowed and in good repair. Buried at this cemetery is the first elected Judge of Denton County, Texas - William Hugh Dickson.
