Welcome

Crockett County was named for the Alamo defender, Davy Crockett. It sits on the Edwards Plateau in southwest Texas and is bordered in the west by the Pecos River. The county seat and only city is Ozona, closer to the east side of the county. The county was created in 1875 but wasn't organized until 1891. In 1880, there were 127 people in the county and presently, there are about 3100. Crockett contains about 2807 acres and almost all of it is range land with less than 3% covered in water.
