Death of Former Resident
Mr & Mrs B B McClinton and two children of Neosho, Mo, are the guests of the formers' sister, Mrs S K
Clinkscales, of Route 2, this week. Mr McClinton came in respond [sic] to telegram telling him of the death of his
father, W B McClinton at Marathon, Texas, and through mistake in transmission of the telegram Mr McClinton expected the
funeral to take place in Altus [OK], but found on his arrival here that his father, who died on Christmas day, was buried
next day at Marathon, where he was visiting a daughter, Mrs Minna Jones. The McClinton family were residents of the
Dunbar neighborhood in this county, for eleven years, the father having proved up on a homestead there. About five years
ago B B McClinton moved to Missouri and his father went with him and made his home there since with the exception of
frequent visits to his other children. He was 72 years old and has a son at Houston and one at Eagle Springs, Texas. His
wife died in Texas many years ago before the family came to Oklahoma.
