Aransas Cemetery is out Corrigan Road, near the Aransas Creek, east of Skidmore in Bee County, also known as Campo Santo Cemetery, the oldest cemetery in Bee County. It is where Ann BURKE CARROLL (the woman who donated the land for the Beeville Township is buried along with CORRIGANs, O'TOOLEs and others. This cemetery was owned in 1992 by the Corpus Christi Catholic Diocese, and the list was furnished to Kay Pacheco by Deacon Roland Quellette.
Following is an excerpt from the History of Bee County:
"Ann Burke Carroll (1814-1876) died at her ranch home on the Carroll League. She was buried in the Corrigan Cemetery in the churchyard of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, where a stake marker called Campo Santo guards its dead."
Attached is a sketch of the graves that was furnished with the list, and another page of passenger lists of the colonists who came to the area in 1829. Ann Burke Carroll came on another ship, the Messenger. This is also included in the History of Bee County.
