* Arvid Verner PETERSON is my paternal grandfather. He was a native Texan. He was born and raised in Olivia, Texas; he went to college at Texas A&M University, then A&M College of Texas (Class of 1938); he taught Agriculture in Pharr, Hidalgo County, Texas, and married there; and, he was a self-employed farmer in Rio Grande City, Starr County, Texas (Starr Produce Company). My great-grandfather, Otto PETERSON, came to America with two of his brothers, Charles and Lenus, in 1906 and settled in Olivia, Texas, where he resided until his death in 1938.
* My great-grandmother, Mabel M. CAVALLIN, moved with her family from Wayne, Kansas, to Olivia, Texas, in 1892. Malcolm Ludwig CAVALLIN's family was one of the first Swedish families to settle in Olivia, Texas. My great-great grandfather Malcolm Lugwig CAVALLIN served his community as County Commissioner for 22 years and as School Trustee for 24 years.
