Notes:
* Henry Griggs was the brother of my Grt. Grt. Gt. grandmother Mary "Polly" Griggs.
* Henry was born on the 18th Dec. 1793 in Greene County, Ga. which later probably became Hancock County, Ga. He married Ann Sturdivant on the 30th Day of Oct. 1816 in Hancock County, Ga. They lived in Green's Militia District in Jones County, Ga. in 1820 & 1821 but he was in Militia District 470 in Upson County, Ga. in 1832 & had went there prior to 1827; they remained there until he went to Grimes County, Tx. prior to 1850. They remained there until 1860. Sometime during the war of 1860 he removed to Navarro County, Texas and he was one of many early pioneer settlers of that county. (Henry was a veteran of the War of 1812). He was living in the household of his son Bill Griggs in 1870 & died on the 27th of Dec. 1871; was buried beside his wife in the Chatfield Cemetery in Navarro County, Tx.
