They took the family from Texas to Cleveland Co., Okla. ca. 1891-94 (receipt/ctf of purchase #536, Oklahoma Historical Society Library, OKC, land tract record). They moved to Okmulgee Co. about 1895 (Obituary for Arthur's brother Walter Goin, Abilene Reporter-News, June 9, 1968, p. 2A). Arthur and Bessie (Shaffer) Goin were among the founding families of East Side Methodist Church (later Butler Memorial Methodist Church). Arthur's identical twin was Oscar Goin.
* Mary Bessie Shaffer walked from Indiana to Indian Territory when she was a teenager. "I walked every step of the way," she told a granddaughter—about eight hundred miles. Her father's wagons were too full for her to ride. In the 1880 census, her father was a wagon maker in Bluffton, Indiana. According to Goin family lore, he was prosperous, well-dressed, and aloof. In Indian Territory, he res Morris and perhaps ran a butter and egg business there. By 1900, he was a farmer in Moon twp, Cleveland Co., Oklahoma, where he lived with wife #3.
* CHILD #2: Notes: Oscar was carried away by a tornado on an April 12, about 1901. His body was found far from their collapsed house.

* Leo served as Okmulgee's mayor 1950-53. They had 2 children. In later life, the Hassells res Arkansas and Oklahoma City.
