- The boxes will hold a lot more than it seems, there is room to enter your source numbers if you have them.
- You can use the Tab key to move DOWN from field to field, Shift+Tab will go UP the form.
- Not all counties are currently participating in this project. If your county is not listed, choose your state and "Other". You must select a county option or no one will receive the sheet.
- We have added a "Human validation tool" at the bottom of our form to stop formbots.
- After submitting your entry, you will be taken to another screen showing your group sheet submission. Your group sheet will automatically be mailed to me and one will come to you. You may send that one to anyone else who might be interested in this information.
- If there are more than 15 children in the family, please add the information for them in the Documentation section or use the form a second time with just the extra children and their parents' names.
- Be sure to read the storage and copyright policies
- DO NOT include LIVING PERSONS on these charts (they will not be added).
- Family group sheets should include MORE THAN ONE person.
- Put SURNAMES in capital letters (John SMITH).
- If there is more than one marriage, please fill out another group sheet and put #2 after husband's name.
- List all women under their maiden names. If unknown, please leave blank.
- For CHILDREN with multiple spouses, list them all with numbers. ([1] John SMITH [2] William BROWN) Do the same for marriage dates and places.
- Add additional information in the area for documentation below the children.
- ALTERNATIVES to this electronic form:
* We can accept any text-based information as long as we can copy and paste the information into our template. Some PDF files don't allow copy and paste.
* COPY AND PASTE this alternate email form into an EMAIL and fill in the blanks.
* Try a method using Legacy software.
We cannot accept PDF files unless they are "searchable"; most are not.- You are strongly encouraged to quote your sources at the bottom. Instructions on how to create a well-documented FGS.
