PINKERTON her present husband and from that time until the day of April AD 1876 lived and cohabited with her and hath in all respects demeaned herself as a kind and affectionate husband and although by the laws of God as well as by the mutual vows plighted to each other were bound to that uniform constancy and regard which ought to be inseparable from the marriage state, yet so it is that the said B.F. PINKERTON in violation of his marriage vows from the 1st day of April AD 1876 hath willfully and maliciously deserted and absented himself from the said petitioner. Wherefore your petitioner further showeth that she is a citizen of the Commonwealth of PA and hath resided therein for more than one whole year previous to the filing of this petition prays your honor that a subpoena may issue in due form of law directed to said B.F. 10. Transcript of Divorce of B.F. PINKERTON and Susan PINKERTON Court of Common Pleas, Schuylkill County, 1878, No. 111. Cyrus Levi PINKERTON, Esq. B.F.'s cousin served as her attorney, "He deserted me in April 1876 and went to Philadelphia...He left me and went to the city of Philadelphia and he never returned to me. He came back to Tremont but he went to his mothers but never returned to me. After he left his mother, he went to Hollidaysburg, Blair County to teach school. He taught two sessions in Hollidaysburg, nine months a term making two years. He has been back to Tremont three times. He has not made his home with his family since, but when here he stays with his mother." Hiram W. PINKERTON (cousin of B.F. PINKERTON) served as a witness for Mrs. B.F. PINKERTON as well as, George R. Heil (neighbor), and Henry W. Faust (landlord).
