Notes:
* Abraham Widner is supposed to have emigrated from New York to Ohio about 1817. He is supposed to have been married twice. The mother of Samuel was born in Pennsylvania.
* Mary C.'s marriage may be common law. I have never located a marriage record in Butler or any surrounding counties. She later lived in Cincinnati and New Orleans but remained in Cambridge City, Ind., from about 1864 on.
* Samuel was a boatman on the Whitewater canal. Most of his biographical information came from his military record in the Civil War. He later lived in Indianapolis, Lafayette (Ind.) and Milwaukee.
