Submitter is the 4th great grandson of Tobias through his daughter, Sarah
Margaret. Information transcribed from the family Bible prior to 1925.
NOTES: John TILLMAN, father of Tobias, played a major role in early
Colonial North Carolina affairs. In reading Mrs. Inglis Fletcher's book,
"The Wind in the Forest" (1957), TILLMAN / TILGHMAN researchers
believe that the character Hillary CASWELL represents a blend of John and his
son Tobias; John being the Secretary to the Governor of Colonial North Carolina.
