"George and his family were living on Adams Mountain, north of Hector, Pope Co., AR in 1894. He went to Carden's Bottoms near Fowler, Yell Co., AR to pick cotton. On October 12th about noon he went to a store in Fowler, AR, bought a can of oysters and some rackers. A little later he complained of feeling bad. He went to the back of the store and laid down. When the owner started to close he found George dead, believing he died from food poison. He was buried in Riverview Cem., which later, during a flood, was washed away."
