* Research of John Albert Burnett of Kingsville, Texas.
Notes:
* Joseph Elias Livingston was living in Union Parish, Louisiana in 1850 in the household of Elisha Ward. In 1850 he remarried to Euphania PEELER and had six more children (Abraham H., David W., Mary Katherine, Samantha Jane, Nancy Euphania, and Marion Randolph).
* Joseph's two daughters by his wife Lorana Hollis lived with their grandmother Wincy HOLLIS and were in her household in the 1860 Union Parish, Census.
* Joseph Elias Livingston died in 1868 and Euphania Peeler Livingston retained the property from Joseph. However, when she died circa 1906, there was a property division among the surviving children of Joseph Livingston which were Mary Katherine Phillips, Samanatha Pace, Nancy Euphania Wheeler, and Louisa "Addie" Reeves.
* The other children--Abraham, David, Marion Randolph and Martha were all deceased prior to 1906 when the property was finally divided in Union Parish.
* Joseph Elias Livingston left many descendants in North Louisiana from his two wives.
* While he is listed as being born in Alabama, there is speculation that he was born in South Carolina. A group of Livingstons left South Carolina and migrated to Autauga and Coosa County, Alabama. Some of this group later went to Union County, Arkansas, which is located above Union Parish, Louisiana---it is not clear if this was Joseph E. Livingston's relatives or a coincidence.
