In the name of God Amen A men I Wiley Rogers of Russell County and State of Kentucky bring sick and weak in body but of sound mind and disposing memory which I thank God and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life and being desirous of disposing of such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with I give and bequeath the same in the following Money First it is my Will and desire that a portion of my perishable property be sold after my decease and all my just debts and funeral expences paid out of the money arrising from the sale there of and after the payments of all my just and funeral expences is paid. It is my will and desire that my beloved wife Elvina Rogers have and enjoy all my property both real and personal for and during her natural life or during her widowhood and after her decease or if she should marry then all my land to be sold and the money arising there from to be divided into five parts and my Sister Rebecca Murr(a)y to have and put my Sister Elizabeth Rogers to have one part my Sister Mary Andrews to have one part my brother James Rogers to have one part and my brother's Hiram Franklin and Martha to have the other part.
It is also my will and desire that if Benjamin George son of William George should with my wife and work and Carry on the ???? until he is 21 years of age that he shal(l) have a horse and Saddle and Schooling such as she may think proper to give him and It is my will and desire that (Almia?) George daughter of the said William George have all the remainder of my property except my wife's Saddle and bedding that is to say at the death of my wife or if she should marry. Lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint Elijah Coffey my executor of this my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand Seal this 6th day of Sept 1848 Signed sealed in the presence of us.
