* In 1847, Pierce and family arrived in NY under the name ROCKFORD from Ireland by way of Waterford.
* By the 1860 Pendleton, KY census they went by the name Rashford, finally settling on Rachford some years later.
* There is a James Rachford who shows up in Kenton in later years. I have never learned whether he is the James above or a different man.
