Notes:
* Knox county Ky was a large division of land that was divided into smaller counties in 1818. Whitley county was formed from part of Knox county at that time. So even though county of residence often changes in recorded information the location of a homestead remains the same. Also orginally (from 1776-1792) Ky was part of the colony of Virginia, "Kentucky" itself was just a county of Virginia. So before 1792 any residence listed as VA can be in the territory of the Kentucky lands not what we know as Va today.
