After the war he became the first Teritorrial Governor of OR, served as an Indian Agent for the Oregon Territory, also fought in the Roughe River Indian War, in OR. Joseph was on the Breckinridge Ticket, against Abraham LINCOLN. Of course we know who won that election:)
