Documentation: Most of the dates are from family members. The rest were
obtained from marriage licenses, cemetery records, etc. John and Mary
Jane Stanfill are listed on the 1860 census in Shawnee, Johnson County,
Kansas. They are not living in the same house. John and his oldest son,
Francis, from a previous marriage are living with J. Booker and his
family. Mary Jane is listed as the head of the household with 7 children.
I think the living arrangement was for earning their living. John and
Francis are listed as laborers (hired hands). In the 1870 census, John is
living in Harrisonville, Cass County, Missouri with his wife and 5
children. In the 1880 census, John is living in Amoret, Bates County,
Missouri with 3 children. John and Mary Jane are both buried in the Adam
Howell Cemetery in Bates County, Missouri.
