OBIT: Mrs McClure Died Early This Morning Native of Indiana Had Been Resident of Leavenworth Since 1895
Passed Away At Home
Mrs. Margaret Jane McClure, 73 years old, a resident of Leavenworth since 1895,
died at 4 o'clock this morning at her home, 115 Columbia Avenue. Mrs. McClure was born, June 24, 1853 at Waldron Indiana. She was a
member of the Methodist church and was highly respected by all who knew her. Three daughters, three sons and three great grandchildren survive her. The
daughters are Mrs. Bertha O Barrows, Vacaville, Calif.; Mrs. R.F. McClure,
Grand Junction, Col., and Miss Ethel Gilbert, Leavenworth. The sons are
Otto Gilbert, Mount Ida, Wis., Arthur Gilbert, Chilicothe, Mo., and Roy Gilbert,
a linotype operator employed by THE TIMES. Funeral Services will not be completed until word is received from
out of town
relatives. The body is at Bush funeral Home, Sixth and olive Streets. McClure Funeral Thursday at 2:30
Funeral services for Mrs Margaret Jane McClure who died yesterday morning,
will be held at 2"30 o'clock tomorrow, Thursday, afternoon at the family
home, 115
Columbia Avenue. The Rev. Wiley A Keve, Pastor of the Methodist
church, will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Muncie cemetery. Mrs. McClure, who as 73 years old, had been a resident of Leavenworth
since 1895. General: NOTE: Although Margaret and Reuben were married at the
time of the 1920 census, they were each living in the homes of their own children, probably
due to their health and financial needs.

Death: She died from injuries received in a car accident, but she was
also
suffering from cancer, which would have eventually taken her life. The accident took
place in Douglas County, and she was taken to the hospital in Lawrence, where she
remained until her death. Her place of residence was Leavenworth. OBIT: Funeral Services For Mrs. Eva I McClure
Funeral services for Mrs. Eva I McClure, 69, who died yesterday of
injuries
suffered in a highway accident June 8, will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Sexton Funeral Chapel.
The Rev. Walter Jones, Pastor of the Church of the Open Door, will
officiate and
burial will be in Mt. Muncie cemetery. Mrs. McClure was born July 1, 1888, in Kingman, the daughter of Francis and
Margaret Gilbert. She was a resident of Leavenworth since 1895 and
made her home at 300 Shoemaker. Mrs. McClure attended schools in Leavenworth and was married May 11, 1904
to Mr. Robert McClure. Mr. McClure died June 16, 1946. Mrs. McClure was
a member of the Church of The Open Door. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Margaret
Eichhorn, 1511 Shoemaker, and Mrs. Violet Widger, Oak Creek, Colo.; one sister Miss Ethel
Gilbert 913 N. 5th; and one brother Arthur Gilbert, Los Angeles, nine grandchildren and 17

She never married. She had a sickness as a small child, possibly
meningitis, or polio. Her left arm and hand were withered, and she used a
cane, so might have been whole left side affected.
