Notes on Edgar:
RESIDENCE: To Iowa in 1884
DEATH: Edgar was kicked by a horse, ruptured, died. Had a sister,
Clara
and brothers John, Jacob (6 School Street Haverhill, MA) and Charles
(5
School Street Haverhill, MA)
POSSIBILITIES: From an email I received 10/16/03 from Marvin:
I think I've found the father of my great-grandfather Edgar Leslie
Farrington who married Emma Jane Harmon. John Farrington b. 1827, New
Hampshire,
father and mother also born N.H., living 1880 in Claremont, Sullivan,
N.H. His sons
John and Charles living at home, and older Jacob and Clara not at home,
all fit the names my grandmother told me of her uncles and aunt and
the
N.H. birthplace we know from other records; although there are just
a few
other Farringtons, none of them come close to fitting. (Jacob and Clara
seem to have left home and are living and working in Mass.) The oddity
is
that I can't find Edgar listed anywhere, not even as Edward. So I need
to
see the original listings for this and earlier years! Hope to have
more
info soon. Marvin
We're looking for John Farrington in Claremont, Sullivan, New Hampshire,
born 1827 in N.H., parents born N.H. too. Children include Charles,
age
5, and John, age 11, and possibly more? His wife's name is currently
unknown to me. And his two older children I found working and
living
with Horace W. Rollins in Lawrence, Essex, Mass. They are Jacob
Farrington, age 15, and Clara J. Farrington, age 19. Who Mr. Rollins
is
and why they are there I have no idea.
Notes on Emma:
BIRTH: Listed as a child of Alma Harmon, deceased, in probate
packet of
Grandmother, Huldah Bassett of Cache County, Utah. She
died 12 Oct
1886.
She was 21 years old and residing at Estherville, Emmet, Iowa at the
time
her sister wrote a letter to the probate court in 1891.
BIRTH: Census in 1880 gives her birthplace as Iowa.
BIRTH: Her death record gives her place of birth as Glenwood, Iowa.
BIRTH: Family records have had Plattsmouth,Cass,Nebraska until I changed
it to Glenwood, Iowa on my data base to more clearly represent all
the
information I am finding; i.e. her death and census records, etc.
After
corresponding with Marvin Moore, a descendant of Emma's, and looking
closely at a map, I am returning to the Plattsmouth birthplace as the
family has had it until PROVEN otherwise. Plattsmouth is just
across the
Iowa/Nebraska border from Glenwood, Iowa.
DEATH: Obit: Idaho Falls Daily Post Friday May 8, 1925
Mrs. Frank Leary
Mrs. Frank Leary, 55 years of age passed away in a local hospital on
Thursday, May 7. The Leary family moved to Idaho Falls two years
ago
from Shelton. Mrs. Leary is survived by her husband, a son, Irvine,
and
a daughter of Denver, Colorado. The funeral will be held Saturday

Notes on Clara:
Possibilities: (from Marvin) From some old postcards, I see that
my
grandmother Clara had a cousin Gladys Bennett in Glenwood {Mills Co,
Iowa} and an aunt Susanna Anthony who had granddaughters Mabel Bennett
and Bess(ie) Anthony. {from either Glenwood or Estherville, Iowa}
