* There are those who feel Jane Hughes Beeler is the daughter of Thomas Hughes and Martha Dinsmore. However, there is no documented proof that she is their daughter. There is a listing for a Jean Hughes as their daughter with the same date and place of birth as Jane Hughes Beeler. It must be proven that she is their daughter ... a matching date and place of birth without documented proof does not make her their daughter. I suspect she could be their daughter, but I have not been able to establish documented proof of my theory. * At the time of Isaac's birth Sullivan County was part of the state of North Carolina. Tennessee did not become a state until 1796. Tennessee as the Southwest Territory was separated from North Carolina in May 1790.
* Isaac's date of birth is calculated by the age listed on his grave marker: Aged 89 years, 1 month, & 1 day. In a Lee Co., IA history bio on Eli Seeley, information given on Martha Beeler Seeley's parents lists Isaac's age at death as "89 years, 2 months, 6 days". Also says, "Her father harvested grain where Cincinnati, Ohio, now stands, and was in the War of 1812"...
* Dates of death for Sarah and Isaac Beeler, Jr. were obtained in depositions concerning the estate of Isaac Beeler.
* Molly Beeler was listed by Robert McKeehan, another Beeler researcher. However, he did not list a source for Molly Beeler and when I went through his research materials I could not find documentation for Molly. However, other sources say Jane Hughes Beeler bore 11 children. Robert McKeehan was a very thorough researcher. Every item he listed on Isaac Beeler's family has been redocumented by myself. Unfortunately, Robert passed away before I began researching the Beeler line. I feel Molly must not have lived to reach adulthood, as she is not mentioned in the list of siblings who were deceased and left no heirs, in the depositions concerning Isaac Beeler's estate.
