Edward SOMERS
Biography: Enlisted in the Illinois Volunteer Infantry on September 6, 1861. He was assigned to Company K in the 47th regiment. He served 4.5 years in the Civil War, until honorably discharged because of wpunds received in the seiges of Corinth and Vicksburg.

Elizabeth Ann ELLIS
OBIT - Elizabeth Ann Ellis was born March 21, 1837 in Hampshire Co. Virginia. Her parents were Levi and Anne Ellis. Her brothers and sisters were Mary Jane, Ann, Thomas J., William H., George W., Benjamin F., Levi T., Jasper N., and Commander P. Ellis. The family lived on a farm in Hampshire Co., VA. They moved to Illinois where several of the older children married. Levi and Anne Ellis eventually settled in KS. Elizabeth Ann Ellis married Edward Somers on June 11, 1866. Edward and Elizabeth Somers were the parents of Mary Isabelle, Levi Azariah, George, James H., William H. and Elizabeth Ann Somers. The family lived on a farm near Castleton, Ill. Elizabeth Ann Somers died after giving birth to her namesake daughter on March 16, 1876. She is buried in the Valley Cemetery at Castleton, Illinois.
