* According to N. K. Rogers, Jesse and Susan were residents of Chattahoochee during the bicentennial year of 1832.
* Charles and Lydia's son, Jesse C. NELSON, was born in Columbia County, Georgia. He moved across the state of Georgia to Muscogee County which split into smaller counties of Muscogee, Talbot and Chattahoochee by 1840. Jesse was a farmer and had 15 children. In the 1830's, he became a member of Mt. Paron Baptist Church in Crawford County, Georgia. Later he was a charter member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in western Georgia, and most of his family continued to be Baptists. His wife was Susan Wall, daughter of John and Dorcas Wall of Maryland and South Carolina. Susan Wall's ancestors migrated from Germany. Many of Jesse's children and grandchildren fought in the Civil War.
