* John Roberts is listed on a Florida State Historic Marker as being the first person buried in Swift Creek Cemetery. His wife Phoebe was said to be the daughter of John Osteen. In Ada Weeks Osteen's Bible records it listed Phoebe as Phoebe Weeks, her birth having been prior to John Osteen and Ada Weeks marriage.
* According to the Pioneers of Wiregrass Georgia, John Roberts was very active in church affairs and an "unswerving Whig" in politics. The Roberts were a pioneer family of Wayne and Lowndes Counties, Georgia. John Roberts and his wife moved to Columbia County, Florida late in life and lived near Lake Butler, Florida. They left numerous descendants in Georgia and Florida.
