Notes:
*Isaac Holt Jr., sold his farm of 85 acres to his brother John Weston Holt for $2,750. This piece on land adjoined his farm. Shortly after, Isaac quit farming and moved to Wilmington, De., around March-Jun 1854.
*Isaac instilled his patriotic views on his two sons. Both of which joined and fought in the Civil War. Captain Robert J. Holt was "A" Company Commander, 8th Regt, Delaware Infantry. William was Roberts 1st Sergeant and is believed to have fought in the Spanish American War.
*Robert held the office of Battalion Commander, 8th Regt in December 1864.
*On February 26, 1896, Robert entered the National Soldiers Home in Hampton Va., as a resident.
*On 18 Nov 1898 and after Mary L. Holt died, William also became a resident at the National Soldiers Home in Hampton Va.
*Both Robert and William are buried in the Veterans Cemetery, Hampton Va.
*The Wilmington City Directory for 1859-1860 showed that the Isaac Holt's daughter & Son-In-Law "Elizabeth & Joseph Grant lived next door to his residence at 12 W 13th street.
*Isaac's wife Mary Campbell was the sister to William Campbell of New Leeds, Cecil County, Md.
*Robert first married Lizzie Duff, daughter of Thomas Duff, and according to the Holt Family Genealogy Book by Kathryn Sims, Lizzie died during or after the birth of their child Ida Cora Holt. Ida was given to her grandfather Thomas Duff to raise.
*New data is showing that the reference of Lizzie dying could be in error because an Elisabeth Holt & Ida Holt were residing with the Thomas Duff during the 1870 Census.
