Notes:
*Sometime in the 1880’s Ellsworth (Elsworth) departed Wilmington and was later found him in Rhode Island 1886 were he married Jennie Stowe. No doubt he got there on his uncle's Ship. Now between 1906 and 1909 Ellsworth Holt returned to Wilmington Delaware. The 1909 Wilmington City Directory shows an entry for Ellsworth Holt occupation was a painter, living at 232 French Street which was close to the river. Around February 1926, Ellsworth became a patient at the Farnhurst, New Castle Hospital. He was a resident there for 4 yrs, 4 months and 2 days where he died from throat cancer on 4 June 1930.
*Some documents listed Jennie Stowe’s last name as Stove or Stone.
*The 1892 birth record for William Holt shows his middle name as "W" but his death record has an "A".
*The Rhode Island Birth record for a David King Holt born 24 Sep 1894, was the 5th child to Ellsworth & Jennie. However, the 1900 Census showed the name of Harry H. Holt with the same birth month and year. I’m assuming that sometime after birth, David's name was changed to Harry H.
*John McMahon was a border living with Jennie and her three children during the 1910 Newport Rhode Island Census this was after Ellsworth returned to Delaware.
*Jennie Stowe Holt was later shown as the wife of John J. McMahon during the 1920 & 1925 Newport RI Census.
*Ellsworth’s father Robert John Holt and was a Captain during the Civil War, fighting in numerous Delaware Infantry Regiments.
*Shortly after Ellsworth’s brother William's died in 1925, Ellsworth became a resident of New Castle Hospital in Farnhurst, New Castle De. The death certificate showed he was there 4 yrs & 4 months and he died from throat cancer. His previous or usual residence was listed as Wilmington. The age at death was listed as 67 years. The undertaker's name appears to be George M. Fisher Inc, at 722 King Street, Wilm, De. The undertaker had an advertisement on page 61 of the 1930 Wilmington City Directory. It showed James F. Hearn as the Funeral Director/Embalmer.
