Notes:
*In 1890 City Clarence shared his Restaurant business with a Mr Samuel M Earl. Both of their residence and Sallie Holt was listed as 301 East 3rd Street which was blocks away. By 1899, Clarence was the sole proprietor of the Quick Lunch/Restaurant which later became a Hotel for single men when he obtained the property next door at 5 east, 4th Street. It had an Oyster Bar, and sold Ice Cream in the day. Clarence got the oysters from his own beds.
*There were numerous advertisements over the years in the "The Morning Star" a Sunday only paper.
*According to the 1920 Census, Clarence & Estella lived at 502 West 22nd Street, Wilm, De. Also Estella's sister Laura V. McKay was living with Them her age was 52.
*A great deal of the Holt family worked off and on for Clarence at the Hotel when times were bad.
*After Estella died, Clarence re-married Anna C. Fleming who worked at his Hotel.
*The Holt Hotel & Restaurant business was thriving up to 1942 when Clarence died.
