*I now can confirm that Elizabeth Campbell was the first wife of James Black and the mother of their son John b. Aug 27, 1759.
*She is mentioned as John's mother and as being deceased in an Orphan's Court doc. A1 pg. 299-300 dated May 25, 1775.
*Black Sussex Co Deed Liber M Book 12 # 356 from John Black to Wm. Wyatt identifies him as the son of James Campbell's daughter - both deceased.
*Also note that John was born before his father married Elizabeth Hood.
