sale, James B. Pyle was highest bidder and the same was knocked off to him for
the sum of $21, 202.5 acres in Dist. 12, Lot #81. Wit: Nicholas Pyle and

It appears that Lewis H Fargason settled in Tallapoosa Co., Ala. sometimes
prior to 1839, being the first of the Henry Co., Ga. Fargasons to come to
Alabama. The 1850 Tallapoosa County Slave Cemsus indicates that Lewis had four
slaves: 1 female (B) age 25; 1 male (B) age 16; 1 female (M) age 3; and one
male (M) age 60.  Lewis was later joined by his sister Hannah and her husband
Memory McMullen and later his brother, John Fargason.  Lewis served as Justice
of the Peace in Henry County in 1826 and again in 1828.
