Documentation:
* 1850-1880 US Census records, Wheeling, Ohio County, VA/WV.
* West Virginia death records for Margaret Clark Hall (d. 1891), James M. Hall (d. 1900), Amanda F. Hall (d. 1914), William C. Hall (d. 1860), Elizabeth Hall (d.1926).
* Circumstantial evidence points to the parents of Margaret Clark Hall (born ca 1804) being William Clark, a tailor who lived in Wheeling and Ann (or Anna A. or Agness)_____. This is based on the following.
   1. 1839 Wheeling Directory lists a William Clark, tailor (Page 45), a Samuel Clark, Ohio River Pilot and and a William Clark, Jr., Ohio River Pilot, at 261 Main Street (both on Page 50). William Clark, Jr. is likely the William Clark (b. 1814) who was evidently Margaret Clark Hall's brother and William Clark, the tailor, is likely their father. Samuel Clark is likely a brother or other relative of the senior William Clark. The senior William may be the "Mr Clarke who lived in and had a tailor shop in Wheeling in 1815 (HISTORY OF WHEELING AND OHIO COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA AND REPRESENTATIVE CITIZENS, Biographical Publishing Co., Chicago, IL 1902). The same history also lists a William Clark on the muster roll of a Company of Light Dragoons of Virginia Militia, commanded by Captain Samuel McLure, of the Fourth Regiment, in the county of Ohio, called into actual service under general orders of January 13, 1815, from the 13th day of February, 1815, when last mustered, to the ?? day of . This may have been the same William Clarke who was a tailor.
   2. Living in William (b ca 1814) and Ruth Clark's household in Wheeling during the 1850 US Census was Agness Clark, age 68, born in Pennsylvania. It is believed Agness was William's mother.
   3. Living in the household of Margaret Hall in Wheeling during the 1860 US Census was Ann Clark, age 77, born in Pennsylvania. Margaret's death certificate lists her parents as "Wm Clark" and "N. Clark." I suspect "N" Clark is really "Ann Clark." Margaret Clark Hall died in Wheeling on 5 January 1891.
4. Ann Clark's will (Ohio County) was dated 11 Oct 1851. Beneficiaries were listed as Margaret Hall, William Clark, John Clark, William Hall, Jr. and Amanda Clark. It is believed Margaret, William and John were Ann Clark's children and William Hall, Jr. was likely a grandson. It is not known how Amanda Clark might have been related.
   5. Marriage and Death Notices of Wheeling West Virginia and the Tri- State Area 1858-1865" by the Wheeling Area Genealogical Society, Belmont County Chapter 1987, lists a Mrs Anna A. Clark who died in Wheeling on 2 May 1863 at age 81. The death notice states she had lived in Wheeling over 57 years and that the funeral would be from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Hall, at 4th St. above Union. Interment was to be 4 May 1863, though it didn't say where.
