Lucas and Mollie farmed right outside of Monroe, now called New Deal, Lubbock
Co. TX. They came to Texas about 1902. His brothers, William Thomas Teal and his
family, Judson Teal and his family and Joe Teal and his family also came to this
area, settling close. These boys are from the first marriage of WJJ and Ellen
Jane Bobo Teal. After the divorce there were considerable hard feelings and the
children of the first marriage rarely went back around the children of the
second marriage.
