Notes:
* The Holzwarth/Holzworth family: Wurttemberg, Germany, and Galveston and Harris counties, Texas, ca. AD 1600 to present
* There is also a William Holdsworth born 6 Oct 1878, died Aug 1962, Kansas.
* There is a Mary L Holzworth buried in Old City Cemetery, 1891-1971.
* The 1910 Galveston censes, Ward 6, Page 9, line 83, shows Tillie Rodefeld, with her mother, Ernestina Middlested in her household. Ernestina is 74, b abt 1836 in Germany , with 3 children living: I believe the 3 children are Henry, Wilhemena, and Tilly. In one census, I found a niece Tillie Jenkins, living with Tillie Rodenfeld. This younger Tillie is the daughter of Henry Middlested, confirming that the older Tillie is Henry Middlested's sister.
* Only John had children; Fred never married, the girls were both married twice - no children.

Not Yet Captured
On election day, Mr. George Holzworth, a blacksmith at the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe shops, was severely stabbed in the back by a negro who lives on Forty-third street, back of the graveyard. Mr Holzworth was assaulted by the negro while on the way to a grocery, seemingly without any provocation whatever.
Just before the assault the negro made the remark that he meant to kill the first white man that passed that way. Mr. Holzworth chanced to be that man. Suiting the action to his threat, the negro assaulted him with a knife, making three attempts to stab him, two being warded off by Mr. Holzworth with his market basket, the third taking effect. The negro escaped, and Mr. Holzworth is now lying at his home on Forty-second and Winnie Streets in critical condition. The officers have since been on the alert for the negro, but as yet have been unable to arrest him.
[I can find no indication of George's death nor a stone for him, perhaps this was the cause.]
