* The Will of Jackson Berry Edwards: The State of Texas County of Cook July the 9th day 1868.
Last Will and testiment of Jackson B. Edwards fast failing in bodily health But sound mind. I do publish this my last will and testiment hereby revoking and making void all other wills by me at any time made.
First it is my Will that all my funeral expenses and together with all my just debts be paid by my excurtors to be paid out of the first money that may come into their hands after my dissease.
2) I give,unto my wife Zelitha Edwards fifty dollars out of my estate.
3) I give unto my son George W. Edwards a minor heir one hundred fifty dollars out of my estate, I also give him the horse Knooch the pacing pony.
4) I give unto Margaret Edwards my daughter a minor heir one hundred and fifty dollars out of my estate.
5) I give unto my son Clayborn B. Edwards a minor heir one hundred and fifty dollars out of my estate.
6) I give unto my son Albert Edwards a minor heir one hundred and fifty dollars out of my estate.
7) I give unto my son Carroll Edwards one hundred and sixty acres of land out of my tract of land in Cook County Texas containing four hundred twenty six acres lying on Indian Creek outside of the residue of my estate.
8) The remainder of my estate I give to my first wifes children to wit my daughters Mary E. Hutson,Amanda Ozment, Miley P. Hutson, William C. Edwards, and Nancy Edwards to be equally divided between them, to be agreed upon by themselves. I further will that my estate be closed up with out any Public or private sale.
I further will that the money I give to my minor heirs be invested in Real Estate for the schooling and maintaining of them. I do nominate and appoint M.M. Ozment, J.R. Hutson, R.P. Hutson and W.C Edwards my exacutors.
I will that M.M. Ozment, J.R. Hutson and W.C. Edwards be guardians of my daughter Nancy Edwards to take care of her part of the Estate.

Inventory and aforais of Bill and the property and money of the estate of J.B. Edwards deceased money on hand twelve hundred and seventy seven dollars and 50 cents. One note for one thousand dollars on Baker and White of Montague to be paid in Beef Cattle. One Dr. or Du bill on Halford and Bowling in pilot point for one hundred thirty seven dollars and 93 cents in currency.
