* The Joseph Henry Bell Family and the Joseph Berry Wade Families moved together from Lumpkin County in 1869 by Ox-drawn wagon train down to Mobile Alabama where they boarded a barge and traveled on the Gulf of Mexico and up the Mississippi River and connected over to eventually arrive at Jefferson, Texas on a Riverboat.
* Rev. Charles Walter Bell was a well-known Baptist minister in Upshur County and performed hundreds of weddings in the county.
* Adelia Josephine Wade, the daughter of Joseph Berry Wade and Sarah Odell Wade, married the son of Joseph Henry Bell.
* Joseph Henry Bell was the best friend of Joseph Berry Wade.
* Adelia's sister, Emily Adaline Wade (1841 – 1895), was also the daughter of Joseph Berry Wade and married her sister's husband's FATHER, Joseph Henry Bell.
