* Ancestors and Descendants, Grayson Co., TX (US/CHN) 976.4557 D2a; James Lafayette Beach The James Lafayette Beach family moved to Texas from Claeborn Parrish (sic), LA in 1880 and settled in Sadler, Grayson County. The first account of the BEACH family in America was in 1638 in Delaware. A.E. Beach (I am certain this is really James, and perhaps the other letters faded in the Bible or family record) was born in 1770 and married Katherine WALLER, born in 1772, and the family moved to Georgia in 1794. Their first son, Thomas was born in Georgia in 1797 and married Sarah W. Hannil (sic, Hammil), They had five boys and four girls. The fifth child was James Lafayette, who was born in 1831 and died in 1911.
* James L. married Harriet DAWSON in 1885 and they had six boys and two girls. Harriet died in 1886 and is buried in Sadler. After Harriet's death, James L. married her sister, Mrs. Nancy Dawson McClendon. The children of Harriet and James L. are: Thomas Dawson who md Mollie Hunter, William who md Zelida Hodges, James Sidney who md Mollie (sic) Kinslow, Tombs (sic, Toombs) who md Julia Eggleston, Homer md Lula Richardson, Lillian Essie died very young, Early md Sarah Blackabee (sic, Blackerby) and Nannie Eva md Grant West. Several grandchildren of these families still live in Grayson Co.
