Documentation:
* 1860 Hardin Co., TN census lists Henry's wife as Lucinda. Shows 3 children.
* 1870 Hardin Co., TN census wife is Margaret. James Thomas, Elen C. and another daughter, Rebecca was listed with Henry and Margaret. Rebecca was born ca 1865 or 66. Her mother was probably Lucinda as Henry and Margaret did't marry until March 20,1866. They have 2 more children. Annice, born ca 1867 and George b. ca 1870.
* On the 1870 Hardin Co., TN census Mary Jane was living with Rebecca Strawn Hurley Hagy and John G.W. Hagy, her grandmother.
* Civil War records for Henry Hurley Co. F, 18th Newsoms TN cavalry state he enlisted Feb. 1863 at Tuscumbia by Captain Wisdom. Reported to be a prisoner of war July 20, 1863.
* The Strawn book states Henry was in Kaufman Co., TX ca 1872.
* Kaufman Co., TX marriages shows a H.H. Hurley and Nancy Tippett married July 30, 1874. Not sure this is the same Henry since Nancy doesn't appear anywhere else???
* 1880 can't find Henry in either TN or TX???
* He died in 1890 leaving 2 minor children; John C. and Lillie.
* Guardianship papers in 1891 show these two children are Henry and Susannah's. They were living with their older sister, Mary Jane and her husband, Lilburn B. Davis. L.B. Davis was their guardian. Susannah died June 1889 before Henry died in Oct. 1890.
* Mable M. Keith Templin, granddaughter of Mary Jane Hurley Davis always thought Mary Jane's mother and father both died when Mary Jane was young. Mable thought Mary Jane was raised by her grandparents.
* Henry had owned land in Kaufman Co., TX before he died.
