Documentation:
* McNairy Co. census for 1900 shows Tempy as head of household. In her home is Catherine Tice age 32 and her son, Eddie, age 7. The census shows Tempy had 7 children with 4 living.
* Paul Eaker, Jr. remembers going to Memphis as a young boy with his parents to meet Eddie Eaker who was supposedly the illegitimate son of C.C. Eaker. They were treated very coldly and didn't visit again.
* Email from David Eaker in 1999, "C.C. "Lum" was shot by one of his co-workers. He was a railroad gang boss. The shooting took place in Corinth, MS or nearby. The man ran away but was caught and there was a trial. They both pulled out guns but the other was faster or more accurate with his aim. My grandfather, Jake Eaker, was an eye witness. The man was acquitted. Testimony was that Lum was a bully and had threatened the man.

* Notes for C.C. Eaker. Georgia's Bible states, "C.C. and wife Tempie and baby are buried in Lenent (could be Tenent?) graveyard. According to family stories, C.C. was a section foreman for the railroad. The men who worked for him were black and this was a chain gang. C.C. carried a pistol wrapped in a bandana in the bib of his overalls. We've been told C.C. had a black girl pregnant and her brother worked for C.C. The brother pulled a pistol on C.C. and before he could remove his pistol from his overalls, the black man shot him.
* Notes for Temperance Hendrix Eaker. The Corinth Herald Newspaper Thursday, January 5, 1899 CHEWALLA, TENN Mrs. C.C. Eaker of Grand Junction, has moved back to Chewalla where she aims to make her future home.
