Sources and Notes
==========================================================================================

  1. 1790 Chester County SC Census, shows Daniel who is under 16 (actually 6 being born in 1784) living at home in Chester with his mother ALCE/Alice, father Daniel (Misspelled as Donald), 5 sisters, 3 brothers, and one slave.
  2. 1800 Chester County SC Census, shows Daniel who is 10-15 (actually 15-16) living at home in Chester with his mother ALCE/Alice who is over 45, father Daniel who is over 45, 5 sisters (two are 10-15 and 3 are 16-25), 1 brother (who is 16-25), and one slave. Two older brothers are not shown at home.
  3. 1810 Chester County SC Census, shows Daniel who is 16-25 (actually 25-26) living at home in Chester with his father Daniel who is over 45 (actually 55), 3 sisters (all are 16-25), and five slaves. Three older brothers and two older sisters are not shown at home. Daniel's mother ALCE/Alice is not present and probably is deceased. There is a possibility that one of the 3 females who are 16-25 is actually Mary, his wife. Some records indicate they were not married until 1816.
  4. 1820 Chester County SC Census, Daniel's father who is 65 is shown still in his home with 3 females 15-26. These are either daughters misidentified for their ages or are granddaughters from his own children. Daniel Sr. also has 5 slaves. Daniel who is 36 is shown as Daniel Price Jr. age 16-25 along with wife Mary who is 29 and their 4 sons under 10. Daniel and Mary's son John is 7 and son Thomas is 2. This census and David Galloway place two more children who are under 10 in the home and Daniel has 3 slaves.
  5. 1830 Chester County SC Census, shows Daniel's father not present in Chester County. Documents show he died after 1830 but before 1836. Daniel who is 46 is shown with wife Mary who is 39 along with sons John (17), Thomas (15), Daniel G. (3), and William (1). Their six daughters include Caroline (7), Susan (4), and 4 unidentified daughters who very well could be nieces from Daniels brothers and sisters who had been living with his father until 1836. Interestingly, the family has no slaves shown. We can deduce that Daniel is 6-16 years older than Mary from this census knowing Daniel was born around 1784.
  6. 1840 Chester County SC Census, Daniel who is 56 is living in Chester County SC with his wife Mary who is 49. Their son John who is 27, Daniel G. who is 13, and William J. who is 10 live with them along with daughters Mary Jane who is 5, Caroline who is 17, Susan who is 14, and 4 unidentified females who are 20-30. The family has 4 slaves.

Price who is 20 and Susan who is 24 both live at home with Daniel and Mary. Also living with Daniel and Mary is daughter Caroline who is married to a man named Levestar. Levestar is not living with the family and may be deceased. Caroline has two children, grandchildren of Daniel and Mary, who also live with the family. The children are John who is 5 and Ephriaim who is 2. Son John Price who is 37 and daughter Mary Price who is 15 are shown living in an adjacent dwelling with another of Carolin'es daughters, Etheyl Mae Levestar.
