Documentation:
* Sutton Veny, Wiltshire, Eng Parish Record - Christening Anne Priscilla EACOTT
* Marriage Cert. for Daniel C MYRICK & Anne Priscilla
* Birth Certificates (West. Aust) for Ira, Thomas & Asie.
* Church Record for Lois Ann (Christ Church, Mandurah, West Aust)
* Birth Index Records for South Australia list Elizabeth, Emma, Allan, Mary Ann, Daniel Charles Jr, and Matilda.

Notes:
*   No record of birth exists in any Australian state for John or Mary Jane - all variations of spelling have been checked, however, Parish records for Bourton, Shropshire, England show a John MERRICK christened 27 Mar 1859, Father Daniel MERRICK, Mother: Ann and Maria MERRICK christened 2 Jun 1861. Father: Daniel MERRICK and Mother: Ann. The dates are consistent. The question is: Did Daniel and Ann go back to England before and after Maryann's birth? If so, why to Shropshire?
*   The 1880 Census for the US has Anna (Anne), John, Jennet (Mary Jane), Charles (Daniel Charles Jr), Matilda and grandson Willie MYRICK living at Scott, Wayne, Pennsylvania, Lois & Thomas PAXTON and three children residing at Wabaunsee, Wabaunsee, Kansas, Thomas & Clara MYRICK with three children were residing at Sanford, Broome, New York, Asa (Asie) MYRICK (widowed) living in Westfall, Pike, Pennsylvania and his daughter Katie residing at the home of Samuel TARBOX (aged 36) in Liberty, Susquehanna, Pennsylvania. Asie's wife had been a TARBOX; Samuel was probably her brother. Mary and Melborne WARREN living in Scott, Wayne, Pennsylvania. Allen & Mary MYRICK and two children were living at Union, Tioga, Pennsylvania.
*   Other information was provided by Gordon MYERS and Jerry HINST (descendants of Daniel and Anne MYRICK).
*   Daniel Charles MYRICK came to Australia as a ship's carpenter aboard an American Whaler, and left the seafaring life to become a farmer in Western Australia. Perhaps the opportunity to own land appealed to him, however, farming in the new Colony was very tough. He farmed at Pinjarra between 1845 and 1848, and then in 1852 "he took his family to the Eastern Colonies per the 'MEROPE'". They actually went to the farming area, of Currency Creek and Goolwa in the District of Encounter Bay, south of Adelaide in South Australia.
*   Many families from the area left to go to the gold diggings in Victoria around this time, including the family of James Tuckey and his wife Mary Ann with their two sons and two daughters.
*   James Tuckey as a lad of 14 years had come to Australia aboard the "ROCKINGHAM" with his father John and sister Charlotte. James Tuckey and Dan's wife Anne had grown up together, and it is believed that James Tuckey's family and Dan Myrick's family left together on the 7th October 1852, however, while the Tuckey family stayed in Victoria for 10 years, and then returned to Western Australia, the Myrick family went to South Australia and then eventually to America where Daniel re-established family ties.
*   Several photographs of Anne as an older lady made their way back to Australia, however, the movements and eventual whereabouts of the family remained a mystery until May of 1998.
*   After checking the Ancestral File at the Family History Library, I was able to make contact with descendants of Daniel and Anne, living in Georgia, USA.
*   In 1995 it was discovered that one photograph of Anne (as an older lady - looks to be in her 50's or early 60's), had been taken by A.D. Harding, Photographer of 42 Main Street, Susquehanna, Pennsylvania. Further research revealed that the family settled in that area.
*   Headstone for Daniel and distribution of estate papers, both give Daniel's death date as 18 March 1894, however his death certificate gives the date as March 15, 1893. His headstone says that he was aged 77 years and 2 months when he died. If that is correct, and one can never be sure, this would mean that he was born in 1816/17, and was around 27 when he married Anne.
*   South Australian Pioneer records show Daniel as a Farmer, Shipowner and Miller, and as residing in Currency Creek and Goolwa.
*   A letter written by Arta T. Fisher (Myrick), the wife of Daniel Charles MYRICK Jr to her grand-daughter, Jerry HINSTin May 1956 states that Daniel MYRICK Sr died in March 1893 and is buried near Brandt, Susquehanna Co., in the Episcopal church yard.
